The cartoonian quality of Nespolo's world is beyond doubt.
His human characters, his domestic or museum interiors, landscapes, and cityscapes are perfectly integrated in a playful and wholly artificial world
enhanced by the raw materials and the technique used by the artist.
Multicolour reds, wood puzzles, or embroideries, for instance, the specific
technique of the Puzzle, the inlays of lacquered wood used in his
paintings was invented by Nespolo in 1966.
Today, Ugo Nespolo is exhibited in museums, cultural
showings, and important galleries around the world.
