Enrico LombardiEnrico Lombardi, painter and writer, was born in Meldola in the province of Forlì in 1958. He now lives in Forlì even as he has kept the studio in his hometown. For over thirty years he has been showing intensively both in Italy and abroad, an activity which went along with his endless reflection on the philosophy of the visual language. Many are the catalogues and books which witness his intense artistic and intellectual career. In 2007 “The silent cry”, a monographic catalogue of his recent paintings, also installed in the one-man show by the same title in the Museum in Forlì, was published by Electa. His work has been reviewed over the years in the main Italian art magazines. Several, among the most important Italian critics and philosophers, have dedicated time over time extensive essays for the purpose of reading and interpreting his art. Many have been the rewards and institutional prizes he has won. The art critic Alessandro Riva has invited him to take part to the art group “Italian Factory” and he has been part of it since 1994. This project is based on the idea and the need as well to make the “New Italian Figuration” known worldwide. Lombardi’s work has also recently been auctioned and sold in many Italian and European auction houses. The following recent art shows testify his original contribution to the current aesthetical research and his constant presence on the contemporary Italian art scene: in 2007 he took part to the show “Italian Art 1968/2007” curated by Vittorio Sgarbi at the Palazzo Reale in Milan; “The new Italian art scene” curated by Alessandro Riva at the Museum in Taipei; “New Figuration…to be continued” curated by Chiara Canali at the Fabbrica Borroni in Bollate near Milan and in 2008 to “RUMORS” at the Arsenal in Turin. |
